Wisdom For The Day Devotional 11 April 2022 By Bishop Mike Okonkwo – Obey God
TOPIC: Obey God (TREM Devotional 11 April 2022)
“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year, a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous;” Genesis 26:12-13 (NKJV)
Wisdom For The Day MESSAGE:
In the book of Genesis 26, the Bible states that there was famine in the land where Isaac was. And as any normal person would, he wanted to leave the land of famine and seek greener pastures elsewhere. However, God told him to stay put and made him a promise to be with him and to bless him. Now Isaac could have discounted the voice of God. After all, irrespective of what he heard, he still had the realities of a famine to contend with, so why would God tell him to stay there?
Beloved, maybe you find yourself in a similar situation like Isaac. And you are asking, “Why would God put me in such a difficult situation, especially when the Bible says in 3 John 1:2: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”. Does experiencing a famine look like prosperity?” With such thinking, don’t be surprised to find yourself immediately discounting the voice as not being from God.
Isaac chose to obey the voice of God. He dwelt in that land, and also sowed in the same land. You see, the quicker we understand that God’s ways are not our ways, neither are His thoughts are our thoughts, the better for us. We might not fully understand what He is saying and all that He is doing, but if we will obey and trust Him, then we will enjoy, exceedingly and abundantly.
Beloved, a life of abundance and victory is for those who have decided to say “Yes” to God. It is for those who have decided that whether they understand the instruction or not, they will obey God. Make up your mind to obey God and obey quickly. Take a quality decision that every promise of God must be a reality in your life. What this means is that whatever He tells you to do, you will do it, whether you fully understand it or not.

Daily Bible Reading:
Morning – 1 Samuel 17-18,
Evening – Luke 11:1-28
DAILY CONFESSIONS: APRIL 10TH – APRIL 16TH
The Lord gives me the seed to sow and the bread to eat. He guides me continually. He satisfies my soul in drought; he makes my bones fat. I am like a well-watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not. I will build houses and live in them; I will plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. I will not build, and another inhabits, I will not plant and another eats. I shall not labor in vain or bring forth for trouble. I will not go out in haste, nor go by flight; for the Lord will go before me and the God of Israel will be my rereward. His kindness shall not depart from me neither shall the covenant of peace be removed. (Is. 55:10; Is. 58:11, Is. 65:21-23, Is. 52:11; Is. 54:10)
Every day and in every way I am getting better: spiritually, physically, financially, mentally, morally, and in all my endeavor.
I am called for a purpose. I will fulfill this purpose and I will arrive at God’s ordained destiny for my life. Nothing will cut me short. I will make a formidable impact in my world for the Kingdom.
